Anna Bee Knitting

My newest creations:

This was Michelle's birthday present. I found the pattern on Ravelry. It's called Ocean waves.
The final length was over 6 feet long. Who-ho. I love blocking. It must be done! Especially on scarves. Before I blocked this project it was only 4.5 feet. For those of you who aren't knitters, blocking is a technique used where you get it wet or steam it and then you pin it down stretched out to get the correct measurements. When it dries, it dries in the stretched out shape. This pattern also needed to be blocked to really open up the pattern of the waves. (Plus, I got a whole foot and a half without knitting. )

This is a hat I was knitting for myself, but I knew I should have followed my intuition and done one more pattern and I didn't. Therefore, it was way to short for my head. Almost like a skullcap. I ended up giving this hat to Payton. I hope she likes and wears it. I love the color and the yarn is so soft. Thank goodness I bought too much yarn for this project and I have enough to make a bigger one for me.

This is a baby hat I made for Emily's little boy. I have to say, this little hat is by far my favorite project to date. I love it. I can't stop looking at it. (That's why you haven't received it yet Emily!) I love showing it off to people. It's made out of a 100% Alpaca yarn (meaning very soft!) This is the same yarn I used to make Emily and my pair of gloves last winter. And I still have plenty of the yarn left to make probably two or three more of these baby hats. I hesitated paying $26 for one ball of yarn, but it has really paid off. I'll probably get 5 or 6 projects out of it. And it is luxurious.

The cutest baby hat ever with little ear flaps. I love them!

Speaking of luxurious yarns.... I can't help myself from going to yarn stores now. I started out buying yarn from JoAnn's and Michael's, but Sterling's sister brought me out to some specialty yarn stores and introduced me to really nice yarns. Some hand dyed and hand spun. Mmm. Amazing textures and high quality fibers. I love them. I still buy some yarns from JoAnn's, but rarely anymore. I just love specialty yarns too much now. My favorite stores are Knit-Purl, Knitting Bee and For Yarn's Sake here in Portland.

This is the yarn I really want to get, (this yarn but in a cream color) but it is $40 for one ball of yarn. Aahhh!! Way too expensive! Especially for only 225 yards! What are they thinking? The brand is Tilli Tomas and the yarn name is Disco Lights. Eventually I'll try to get it. I might wait until December to purchase it because I get a discount for my birthday month.

Enough about yarn!

P.s. Does anybody else get frustrated with bloggers picture uploader? I can not get it to do what I want and it is somewhat frustrating. I tried to get that first picture to center, but every time I did it would kick it to the bottom. Weird. At least it's a little better then it used to be. Oh well.
