JJ is already 6 weeks old!! Time has flown by. Last night we were blessed with him sleeping 6 hours straight. Wo-who!! My boobs on the other hand, not so much. Ouch!
JJ loves smiling all the time. He started smiling socially around 3 weeks. I would smile at him constantly and he would just stare. Finally, he picked it up. I love his smiles:
He also loves looking at everything. He overtires himself because he is always interested in everything around him. His favorite things to look at are our wrought-iron headboard, closed blinds with light streaming through, and his new favorite- the camel on his mobile. He smiles or laughs when it comes around.
The first time he lifted his head while on his tummy was when he was a week old. He held it up for 15 seconds straight. I couldn't believe it. Now I can carry him on my hip and he holds his head up for the most part. The worst is when I have him on my shoulder though and he is holding his head up but then loses strength and headbutts my collarbone. Poor boy.
We love talking to each other too. I start talking to him and he talks back. It is absolutely adorable.
After Joshua was born he lost a pound (we almost had to supplement) so it took a little while gain it back.
Birth weight: 9 lbs 3oz
3 Days: 8 lbs 4 oz
4 weeks: 9 lbs 15 oz
6 weeks: 10 lbs 12.5 oz
He's steadily gaining about 7 oz a week, which is where we want to see him! Yay! I was worried for awhile. He's already growing out of some of his 0-3 month clothes. (Only Old Navy and Gerber clothes though because they run extremely small!)
He also likes to cuddle with mommy for hours on end:

Um, my 8 month old has NEVER slept for 6 hours straight!!!! So jealous...but laughing about your boobs! Is that awkward, laughing about another woman's boobs? Probably, but its just because I remember the feeling!

Cassidy: He paid us back the next night by only sleeping 2-3 hours at a time and screaming. Ugh! Not the step back that we wanted. It's hit or miss if we'll have a good night.

jj is ADORABLE! oh, what a cutie! i loved reading more about him and i'm glad you are loving being a mommy - it's a pretty neat job. and there is nothing like that quiet, head over heels, one-on-one time with your first. seriously, it is a once in a lifetime thing - soak it up! (but it sounds like you are :))
