Procrastinating my research paper

I was talking to Michelle today and she commented on how I haven't written on my blog in over a month, so I thought, "Hey. Why don't I write now? I only need to write a 12 page research paper. I can procrastinate that I little longer."

So a little update: That paper that I was complaing about writing last time I wrote on here; Well, I got an A on it and I got an A on my second paper and I turned in a third paper on Thursday. I hope I get an A on that one too. I met with my teacher and she asked where I had learned my great writing skills (BYU, high school, PCC?) I told her that I thought I was an awful writer and she was the first English teacher to tell me that I was good. YEAH! That made my day. So, I am actually going to take another English class from her again next term. She is an awesome teacher and really makes us think about what we are reading. I think the reason why I write better in her class is because she wants us to write about our own personal experiences and compare it to the stories we have been reading. It's been great because she doesn't judge a student if they don't have the exact same interpretation of a story as she does. In fact, she wants us to have different interpretations. It's great!

So, other than my English class, I have been taking 3 other classes. I am a Finance major and this term I am taking the beginning Finance class. So far, I love it. My teacher is great and he really knows how to teach us with real-life experiences. He worked for CitiCorp or CitiBank for a few decades and he has worked internationally for a long time. On my midterm, I got a 95%. Only one person in the class got a point higher than me. I was so excited and my teacher asked me if I was going to be a Finance major and I told him that I was and he said he wanted me to take his International Finance class. I'm glad he sees potential in me!

I'm also taking a supply chain management class. Oh, the worst class ever. I hate it when teachers "teach" by reading off of their powerpoints. What is the point of going to class, when I can just read the powerpoint at home? I want to sleep through every class. I wish I could skip it, but he takes attendance every day. Most of the class has figured out, by now, that you can just leave during the break. He did admit in class on Thursday that he is mildly dyslexic and can't teach without reading from his powerpoints. Wouldn't you think he wouldn't want to read at all if he was dyslexic? I think it was just an excuse to teach poorly. AND on our midterm, I pointed out a mistake on one of his questions and he said, "Oh, that's not what I meant to say." Well, more than half of the class missed the problem and he wouldn't give anyone their points back because he had too much pride to admit that he had the wrong answer. Ugh! Other than that, he's a nice teacher. Worked for Intel for a long time, but teaching is just not the right career for him. I bet he was a lot better at his other job.

That leaves me with the class that I am avoiding right now: BA 301. Research and Analysis of Business Problems. I have been putting off this research paper for too long. I like my teacher because he was an advertising guy for a long time and he likes to show us different commercials and video clips (sometimes they relate to the course material.) He makes the class fun, but the actually material isn't that great. My paper is due in two weeks, so I have time to finish it but I really should write something soon. Plus, I told Sterling I was goign to work on it today and try to get as much done as possible. Well, I have an outline, the title page, the table of contents, and the first sentence done. Sigh. I need a break from school. Spring break is in two and a half weeks. Hallelujah!

On a side note, it snowed 80 inches up on Mt. Hood this week, so I am going skiing tomorrow! AND I went on my first black diamond run last week! This is our trail map of Timberline.

I am glad you took off this Saturday to skii. A nice break for you guys. Sounds like you have a big load at school. I am also counting down the days until spring break. My students are so not following the rules and listening. It happens every year around this time. Only a little over 60 school days and then we will be done with this school year!

You are so smart! I am so proud of my sweet younger sister:) And I'm jealous you are good at skiing. Unfortunately, I don't get a spring break like my other sisters:)....but spring is almost here in Utah! We even rode the motorcycle yesterday!
